Water-based Nitorlack Grain Filler 250 ml
The Nitorlack Grain Filler effectively prepares wood before applying paint, varnish, or another finish on your guitar.
It is particularly recommended for open-pore woods, such as mahogany, ash, or rosewood. It fills and evens out the wood pores to achieve a more regular surface perfectly prepared for the next finishing steps.
Its water-based formula is easy to work with: the consistency can be adjusted with a bit of water according to the desired application method. Once dry, the product can be sanded to achieve a uniform surface ready for finishing.
Why use a grain filler?
On certain types of wood, the pores remain very visible even after sanding. Applying varnish or paint directly may then require many coats to achieve a perfectly smooth surface.
The grain filler helps fill these irregularities before finishing, making it easier to achieve a homogeneous and professional result.

Application tips
Carefully prepare the wood by sanding before application.
Mix the grain filler with about 10% hot water until you achieve a homogeneous texture suitable for application.
Apply the product to the wood, working along the grain and then perpendicular to the grain to properly fill the pores.
After about 10 minutes, remove the excess with a spatula held at about 45°. Let dry, then remove any residues and sand the surface with 400 grit.
If a second application is necessary, let dry for about 30 minutes before repeating the process.
Wait 24 hours before applying the next finish.
