Nitorlack Gold Top Nitrocellulose Paint, 400 ml Spray
Nitorlack Gold Top is a metallic nitrocellulose paint developed specifically for finishing and restoring guitars.
This shade captures the spirit of the famous Goldtop finishes introduced in the early 1950s, with a bright metallic gold that has become a true classic of the electric guitar.
Compared with Nitorlack's Aged Gold Top shade, this version gives a lighter, brighter and less aged result, ideal for recreating the look of a classic Goldtop.
Packaged in a 400 ml aerosol can, it lets you achieve a nitrocellulose finish without a spray gun.
An excellent base for Candy finishes
Gold Top can also be used as a metallic base coat before applying a translucent Candy color.
Combined with Nitorlack Candy Tangerine, the gold base adds depth and warmth to the final color. The Candy color lets the metallic particles of the Gold Top show through, for a particularly rich, bright result.
The final result depends mainly on the number of Candy coats applied: a few passes keep the result light and bright, while additional coats gradually deepen the color.
Application
For an even finish, the surface must be properly prepared before applying the color. The wood must be sanded, the pores filled and the surface perfectly smooth.
Spray from about 25 cm from the surface, in even, crisscross passes.
Apply several coats until you obtain uniform metallic coverage.
For a classic Gold Top finish, finish with a clear nitrocellulose lacquer.
For a Candy finish, apply the translucent color (for example Candy Tangerine) over a perfectly even Gold Top, then finish with the clear lacquer coats.
