TOWNER® DTB Adapter – Drill-free Mounting for Bigsby® B3 (B6 for ES)

Install a Bigsby® B3 on your Les Paul® or Gibson®-style stop tailpiece guitar without drilling the body.

The TOWNER® Down Tension Bar (DTB) is the solution designed by Christian Towner to preserve the integrity of your instrument while optimizing tension and sustain.

Installation without modification

The DTB attaches directly to the original tailpiece inserts.
No drilling.
No irreversible modification.

It replaces the function of the front tension bar of a Bigsby B7 by pressing the strings onto the bridge to ensure an optimal break angle.

Precise tension control – V.S.T (Variable String Tension)

Unlike a fixed bar, the DTB is height adjustable.

By adjusting the inserts, you control:

• The string break angle

• The pressure on the bridge

• The sustain

• The dynamic response

A lowered bar increases pressure and gives a tighter, punchier sound.
A raised bar offers a more open and vibrant response.

Towner emphasizes finding the optimal balance point, unique to each guitar.

Compatibility

• For mounting a Bigsby® B3 on Les Paul® and Gibson®-type guitars with stop tailpiece

• B6 version adapted for ES models

• The stop tailpiece studs must not exceed 0.260” (6.60 mm) at the neck
