Brass gives bright, clear notes with long sustain. It can improve note clarity and definition, making your guitar sound more articulate and vibrant. Steel tremolo blocks produce a bright, clear, punchy sound. They enhance the mids and upper highs, for a sharper tone. They also offer good sustain, though generally not as much as brass, and notes can decay faster than with brass. Steel is heavy, but generally lighter than brass (this tremolo weighs 396 g without the arm), while still giving very good stability and a very good return to pitch. Steel is highly durable and resistant to wear and corrosion, making it a long-lasting choice.
