The CREL JB42 in bridge position was specially designed to address one of the most common limitations of Jazz Bass®: the lack of depth and body in this position. Thanks to a deliberately boosted output level, this pickup delivers more present lows without sacrificing attack or definition, while retaining the Jazz Bass® sonic identity.
In bridge position, the JB42 delivers a dense, precise and articulate sound, ideal for cutting through the mix with clarity. The lower mids are fuller, the attack remains sharp and the result maintains excellent clarity, whether playing fingerstyle, with a pick or in slap. This design allows you to fully exploit the bridge pickup, alone or combined with a neck pickup, with great sonic versatility.
The pickup is based on a magnetic steel structure, activated by a Neodymium Iron Boron magnet, offering a powerful, stable and homogeneous magnetic field. This technical choice allows for a higher output level than traditional Alnico magnets, without loss of performance over time.
The magnet is fully protected under a closed cover, preventing any direct contact with the strings and eliminating unwanted mechanical noise. The optimized length of the magnet ensures even pickup across all 4 strings, regardless of their tension or gauge.
Although it is a single coil, the CREL JB42 bridge incorporates a Faraday cage and careful internal insulation, allowing it to effectively reduce background noise and interference. This design ensures reliable operation both in the studio and when playing amplified on stage.
