Relic patina, accentuates the aging and cracks of the guitar
Relic effect patina, to accentuate the aging and cracks in your guitar's finish - 75 ml bottle
If you want to give your guitar an authentic vintage look, Nitorlack's relic patina effect stain is the ideal solution. Applied to a cracked or dented guitar, it gives an aged appearance by filling and accentuating these imperfections. If some parts of your guitar's wood are almost bare of varnish, you can easily darken them and achieve the desired vintage look. This way, you can easily give your guitar the appearance of an instrument that has been played for years.
Instructions for use
It is recommended to use this product in combination with Relic Gloss or Golden Age varnish. Once the guitar is out of the freezer, the cracks will be more open. Then apply the product. Apply generously and let it sit for 5 to 10 minutes. Then wipe the surface with a clean cloth until it is perfectly clean. This water-based product is easy to remove, but if it dries for more than 5 to 10 minutes, it will be harder to remove. Repeat the process once or twice so that the product adheres more to the wood and marks the cracks more.
The Relic patina can also be used to accentuate the aging of guitar necks:
- Applied to a rosewood or pau ferro fingerboard, it darkens the wood to give it the rich hue of golden age Brazilian rosewood, with the look and feel of a very old fingerboard.
- The Relic patina gives a worn brown effect to the back of a neck sanded down to the wood, for a realistic aged finish.
This water-based product is non-toxic and does not attack any type of nitrocellulose varnish. However, wearing gloves is recommended due to its intense color, which can be difficult to remove from the skin. A 75 ml bottle is enough for one or two guitars.
