The CREL JB42 is a passive pickup for Jazz Bass® designed for musicians seeking a denser, more precise and expressive sound, without betraying the Fender® sonic DNA. Made with a high level of quality, it is suitable for American, Japanese, Mexican or Asian basses as well as for high-end customization or restoration projects.
The JB42 stands out for its powerful and musical response, with deep lows, full-bodied low mids and excellent clarity across the entire spectrum. The sound remains warm and articulate, whether you play with fingers, pick or slap, with a very responsive dynamic.
In bridge position, the pickup benefits from an optimized output level, naturally compensating for the lack of lows often found in this position. Result: a fuller tone, ideal for both modern registers and vintage sounds.
The JB42 thus considerably expands the tonal palette of a Jazz Bass®, offering a subtle balance between tradition and modernity.
The CREL JB42 adopts a different design from traditional exposed pole pickups. Its magnetic circuit is based on a steel structure, energized by a Neodymium Iron Boron magnet, fully protected under a closed cover.
This architecture avoids any direct contact between the strings and the magnet, eliminating unwanted mechanical noise while ensuring homogeneous and precise capture.
The pickup also features a Faraday cage and careful internal insulation, allowing it to effectively reduce background noise and interference, inherent to single coils, both on stage and in the studio.
Neodymium provides a stable and durable magnetic field, with a higher output level than traditional Alnico, without loss of power over time. The optimized length of the magnets ensures uniform capture over about 70 mm, perfectly suited to all 4-string basses on the market.
The JB42 covers are made by high-precision 3D printing, allowing compatibility with standard international formats (US, Asia, etc.), as well as the possibility of adapting to specific dimensions.
The material used is resistant, durable and eco-friendly, with excellent resistance over time to scratches and wear.
The top surface features an elegant textured finish, and the CREL Pickups logo is engraved directly into the material, ensuring a clean, discreet and indelible result.
The adjustment foam, also 3D printed, is integrated directly into the pickup. Its pressure strength has been calculated to offer precise, stable and simple adjustment during installation.
